The Cobwebs is one of the oldest properties in Ashburton, believed to date back to circa 16th century. This grade II mid terrace, four bedroom cottage is overflowing with character features. As you move through the property you can see the different stages of its transition throughout the years.
As you enter there is a small entrance hall area which leads into a very generous sized living room, this room is very light due to two large windows at the front of the property, there is also a stone fireplace complete with a multi fuel burner. This space has been used for many different purposes over the years, including several shops, and can still be used for commercial purposes if desired.
Moving through from the living room towards the back of the property there is a large kitchen diner with the original flagstone floor, there is a large stone alcove where there once used to be an open fire, this now forms a small seating area. There is also a large window at the back of the kitchen overlooking the Courtyard garden. The Kitchen itself has space for cooker and dishwasher, there is also a small separate utility area with space for a washing machine and tumble dryer, from here you can access the Courtyard Garden via a stable door. The garden is very private and low maintenance, being mainly laid to patio with small borders planted with shrubs and climbers surrounding.
You access the first floor of the property via a staircase leading off from the kitchen. As you go up the staircase there is exposed original panelling and stone work. On the first floor there is the master bedroom which is incredibly spacious and spans the entire length of the property, this room has wooden floorboards and an original fireplace. There is also a second double bedroom on this floor which is currently being used as an office space. The family bathroom again is very large and has both a roll top bath and shower cubicle.
On the top floor of the property there are a further two bedrooms, to the front again is a very spacious double bedroom with beautiful original exposed beams. There is also under eve storage. There is also a further double, with wonderful exposed beams, there is also an additional storage cupboard on the landing.
Cobwebs is the very definition of a Tardis, with generous rooms throughout, it offers a huge amount of space, and has to be seen for this to be fully appreciated.
